Munich Airport welcomes MNG Airlines
Munich Airport welcomed a new airline just in time for the airport's 20th anniversary celebrations. On May 17, 2012, the Turkish carrier MNG Airlines touched down at the airport for the first time with a Boeing 737F – 20 years to the day after the official opening of the new Munich Airport.
Effective immediately, MNG will depart twice a week, on Thursdays and Sundays, from Munich to Istanbul, where connecting flights are available to 10 other destinations in Turkey, Iran, Iraq, Libya, Cyprus and Bulgaria. Depending on the cargo load, the airline can also switch at short notice from the Boeing 737F to a larger Airbus A300F on the Munich route.
