London/Fürstenfeldbruck: Proton Motor Fuel Cell GmbH opens new, state-of-the-art production facility west of Munich

For the Bavarian-British company, Proton Motor Fuel Cell, there were two big occasions to celebrate in August: firstly, the company’s 25th anniversary and, secondly, the official presentation of the new production site. With a sevenfold increase in production capacity when compared to the existing site, the industrialisation and serialisation of production are to be advanced. In addition to Invest in Bavaria, the Economic Development Agency of the City of Munich (Wirtschaftsförderung der Stadt München) and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Munich and Upper Bavaria (IHK) lent their support to Proton Motor Fuel Cell in its expansion in Bavaria.

Proton Motor Fuel Cell GmbH, incorporated in 1998, develops and manufactures emission-free hydrogen fuel cells, enabling its customers to create independent and sustainable energy solutions. In doing so, the Puchheim-based company is rendering an important contribution to decarbonisation, as well as to achieving the globally envisaged climate revolution, and is responding to the rapid market growth with a stronger focus on series production. Bavarian networks: Proton Motor Fuel Cell benefits from collaborative efforts

Long-standing partners and supporters from Bavaria’s business ecosystem – such as Bayern International, Bayern Innovative, Zentrum Wasserstoff.Bayern (H2.B) or the Bay.FOR – attended the event. Proton Motor CEO Dr Faiz Nahab and CTO & COO Sebastian Goldner presented the hydrogen fuel cell strategy in the context of company goals and market opportunities at the new location, and media representatives and visitors were given the opportunity to view the new site and take in demonstration exhibits. The commissioning of the new production facility is planned for mid-2024.
