IT security specialists from all over the world met at the Town Hall Meeting @it-sa in Nuremberg

As part of it-sa in Nuremberg on 19th October 2016, Invest in Bavaria and the Security Network Munich held the first Town Hall Meeting @it-sa, at which experts, international guests and exhibitors had plenty of chance for discussions over food and drinks.

When IT security specialists from near and far gather in Nuremberg, it is a clear sign that it-sa – Europe’s largest specialist trade fair for IT security – has opened its doors once again. Be it cloud computing, IT forensics, data backup or hosting, this trade fair held every year in mid-October is a unique opportunity for IT security officers and developers of products and services to discuss the topic of IT security.

This year the international networking event – Town Hall Meeting @it-sa - was held for the first time. The exclusive lunch meeting on the second day of the trade fair was initiated by Invest in Bavaria and the Security Network Munich to provide a platform for international discussion between security experts, exhibitors and visitors in a casual atmosphere. Around 70 interested guests from all over the world came together at lunchtime on the second day of the trade fair to exchange and share insights on cyber risks and possible remedies. Highlights of the events included keynote speeches by Florian Seitner (Cyber-Allianz-Zentrum Bayern), Steven Rymell (Airbus Defence & Space) and Sebastian Tischer (International Security Forum). Visitors then had plenty of opportunity to make new contacts in the cyber security community over traditional Bavarian sausages, meatballs and a cream dessert.

it-sa set new records this year – with 490 exhibitors from 19 countries and more than 10,000 trade visitors from Germany and abroad, the trade fair is becoming an ever-stronger magnet for an international audience. For the first time, there were also country-specific pavilions for French and Israeli providers of security solutions. Due to the high demand, next year’s trade fair will take up not one but two halls.

The Town Hall Meeting @it-sa was also a great success. Thanks to the great interest and positive feedback it received, it will be repeated next year. Invest in Bavaria and Security Network Munich are already looking forward to fascinating speeches and lively discussions at the Town Hall Meeting @it-sa in 2017.
