Slovenian kranjska klobasa sausage and Bavarian beer – a match made in heaven?
Invest in Bavaria is presenting at the Deutschlandforum in Ljubljana on 23rd April 2015.
Slovenia is a beautiful yet unfamiliar country. So what is typically Slovenian? Kranjska klobasa! OK, OK, it is not all about food. There are no known clichés about the country. It is considered the “little tiger” among transformation countries. The Slovenian people are said to have a Swabian mentality. One thing is clear: Slovenia has built up a good reputation and integrated successfully into the family of stable industrialised countries. Invest in Bavaria used this year's Deutschlandforum in Ljubljana, organised by the German-Slovenian Chambers of Industry and Trade, to gain an impression of Slovenia's entrepreneurial landscape and inform Slovenian companies about Bavaria as a business location and the support opportunities available for companies moving to the state.
More and more Slovenian companies are facing the strategic question of whether to expand their business activities to the German market. The geographical proximity means that their attention is usually focused on southern Germany, very often Bavaria. The economic data and facts speak for themselves: bilateral trade relations between Bavaria and Slovenia have seen dynamic growth in recent years. Electronic products, vehicles, machines, hardware and metal goods from Slovenia are in particular demand on the Bavarian market. Bavarian exports to Slovenia amounted to EUR 624 million in 2013; Slovenian exports to Bavaria were even higher at EUR 955 million. Bavaria is Slovenia's most important trading partner among German states.
Interest in moving to Bavaria is high in Slovenia: more than 120 companies came to the Deutschlandforum seeking to find information on the challenges involved in entering the German market. We hope we can welcome some of them to Bavaria in the near future!
