MUNICH 2019 was a very positive year again for the Bavarian business development agency “Invest in Bavaria” with 125 managed projects, 109 of which were new settlements. Bavaria's Minister of Economic Affairs Hubert Aiwanger: “Invest in Bavaria's success in attracting investors and entrepreneurs from all over the world shows the huge attractiveness of Bavaria. We are further expanding Bavaria's leading position as a high-tech location with numerous settlements in the high-tech sector. Bavaria is becoming a leading region for the digital revolution and for industrial future topics in order to secure jobs and sustainable prosperity. Innovative companies and start-ups from abroad make an important contribution to the future competitiveness of Bavaria as a business location.”
 
3,856 new jobs were created and another 700 jobs were secured throughout Bavaria as a result. The investment projects by Invest in Bavaria originated from a total of 29 countries. The USA occupied first place among the foreign investors, ahead of China and Japan. There were new settlements in all seven counties. Half of all new jobs are in rural areas. “Invest in Bavaria is a model for success. In the past 20 years since it was founded, one project has been successfully completed every four days and approx. 50 new jobs have been created every week,” emphasises Aiwanger.
