Bad-Tölz-Wolfratshausen district welcomes Invest in Bavaria

Dr. Hübschle (Head of Invest in Bavaria) and I were able to see the strengths of the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen business location for ourselves in the very best mountain weather at the invitation of Councillor Niedermaier and Mr Roß, the district’s business promoter. Besides the ideal geographical location south of Munich and highly qualified professionals, the location in the foothills of the Alps also excels in terms of quality of life.

So it is not surprising that Brauneck und Wallbergbahnen GmbH is one of the most important companies in the district. The cable cars open up one of the largest networked skiing and hiking regions in the Bavarian Alps to locals and tourists. With these opportunities on its doorstep, the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district’s slogan, “Working where others go on holiday!”, is not just a platitude.

The great conditions for leisure activities were also highlighted by the North German CEO of  Sitec Aerospace GmbH, Mr Harms. The enterprise produces parts for the aviation industry with 180 employees at its site in Bad Tölz. Sitec Aerospace’s actuators and valves are installed in virtually every passenger plane in the world, providing comfort and safety. Highly qualified professionals are required to develop, manufacture and sell these innovative components. These are recruited on the one hand through regional services, like the Ausbildungskompass. On the other hand, employees come to Bad Tölz from all over Germany and the world to work for this technology enterprise.

On the way to Wolfratshausen, we were able to take a brief look at the  Marktstraße in Bad Tölz. The  Parfümerie Wiedemann is the perfect example of the famous sight’s (success) story. Based in the Marktstraße for more than 160 years, 24 branches throughout the region, including Munich, are managed from here today.

The best conditions for global market leaders and start-ups alike

The Weber Schraubenautomaten GmbH company in Wolfratshausen also shows what successful economic development in the district looks like. The company is one of the global market leaders in the development and manufacture of machines and equipment to automate connecting and joining processes. Thanks to its worldwide success, CEO Karl Bujnowski can soon celebrate the ground-breaking ceremony for the extension of its production and administration building. The existing building’s areas are being doubled in the process.

Geretsried also offers the companies based there fantastic development opportunities and is exploiting potential space for new establishments in the long-term. As a result,  Franco Fresco GmbH , founded in 2003 as a pizzeria, moved to its new head office in the Nord commercial area last year. 50,000 Gustavo Gusto brand frozen pizzas are now shipped from here every day to supermarkets all over Germany.  rohi stoffe GmbH was founded as early as 1933. The family business, which specialises in high-quality seat textiles, supplies customers worldwide with its products. Among other awards for this, rohi stoffe GmbH was honoured with the Bavarian Export Award in 2014.

The Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district offers the best basic conditions to successfully develop very different enterprises. The district’s business development agency actively supports companies in their search for suitable qualified personnel as well as commercial property and premises. Mr Roß is available as a business development contact for all companies.
