Furthermore, cookies that have already been placed can be deleted at any time via an internet browser or other software programs. This is possible in all common internet browsers. If the data subject disables the placing of cookies in the internet browser used, some functions of our website may not be fully usable.
2.1.2 Collection of general data and information
The website of "Bayerische Gesellschaft für Internationale Wirtschaftsbeziehungen mbH" collects a series of general data and information each time a data subject or an automated system accesses the website. This general data and information is stored in the log files of the server. The website may record (1) the browser types and versions used, (2) the operating system used by the accessing system, (3) the website from which an accessing system is referred to our website (a so-called referrer), (4) the subwebsites that are accessed via an accessing system on our website, (5) the date and time of access to the website, (6) an internet protocol address (IP address), (7) the internet service providers of the accessing system, and (8) other similar data and information that are used for security purposes in the event of attacks on our information technology systems.
"Bayerische Gesellschaft für Internationale Wirtschaftsbeziehungen mbH" does not draw any conclusions about the data subject when using this general data and information. In fact, this information is required to (1) correctly deliver the contents of our website, (2) optimise the contents of our website and the advertising for it, (3) ensure the permanent functionality of our information technology systems and the technology of our website, and (4) provide law enforcement authorities with the information necessary for criminal prosecution in the event of a cyber attack. These anonymously collected data and items of information are therefore analysed statistically by "Bayerische Gesellschaft für Internationale Wirtschaftsbeziehungen mbH" with the aim of increasing data protection and data security within our company in order to ultimately ensure an optimal level of protection for the personal data processed by us. The anonymous data of the server log files are stored separately from all personal data provided by a data subject.
2.1.3 Use of databases and applications
On the website of "Bayerische Gesellschaft für Internationale Wirtschaftsbeziehungen mbH", users are given the opportunity to use various databases and services provided by our company. Details of the type of personal data transmitted to the data controller when using the respective service or database depends on the input masks used for this purpose.

The data entered in the user profile will only be used to automatically complete the respective form fields and to contact the data subject if the need arises.
The information in the forms for travel registration, booking and entry in the delegation brochure may be passed on to the service provider entrusted with the implementation.
The data stored in the user profile is used exclusively for logging in and to answer any queries that may arise.
The information entered in the registration forms, including contact details, will be stored for the purpose of processing the registration and in order to answer any follow-up questions.
• Key-to-Bavaria database
The names of the managing directors of the companies and institutions recorded in the Key-to-Bavaria database appear publicly on the details page of the entry. Exceptions are entries that are excluded from publication.
The contact data of the registered contact person and the company e-mail address entered are also used for event-related information about activities, services, events and other news, for information on data maintenance and database extensions and also for the administration of the database entry via the Key-to-Bavaria application: https://www.bayern-international.de/firmendatenbank/eintrag-aendern-loeschen/
The data entered in the order form will be used exclusively for processing orders and deliveries and to answer any queries that may arise.
2.1.4 Subscription to our newsletter
On the website of "Bayerische Gesellschaft für Internationale Wirtschaftsbeziehungen mbH", users are given the opportunity to subscribe to our organisation's newsletter. The type of personal data transmitted to the data controller when ordering the newsletter depend on the input mask used for this purpose.
"Bayerische Gesellschaft für Internationale Wirtschaftsbeziehungen mbH" informs its customers and business partners at regular intervals about the products and services it offers by means of a newsletter. The data subject can only receive the company newsletter if (1) the respective data subject has a valid e-mail address and (2) the data subject registers to have the newsletter sent to them. For legal reasons, a confirmation e-mail using the double opt-in procedure is sent to the e-mail address entered by a data subject for the first time prior to sending the newsletter. This confirmation e-mail serves to check whether the owner of the e-mail address has authorised the receipt of the newsletter as the data subject.
Furthermore, when a registration for the newsletter is received, we store the IP address of the computer system used by the data subject at the time of registration assigned by the Internet Service Provider (ISP) as well as the date and time of registration. The data need to be collected in order to trace any (possible) misuse of a data subject's e-mail address at a later point in time and therefore serves the legal protection of the data controller.
The personal data collected when a data subject registers for the newsletter will be used for sending our newsletter. Moreover, subscribers to the newsletter may be informed by e-mail to the extent necessary for operating the newsletter service or for registration purposes, as could be the case in the event of changes to what the newsletter offers or changes in technical conditions. Data subjects can cancel their subscription to our newsletter at any time. Consent to the storage of personal data, which the data subject gives us prior to sending the newsletter, can be revoked at any time. A corresponding link is available in every newsletter for the purpose of revoking consent. It is also possible at any time to unsubscribe directly from the newsletter on the website of the data controller or to inform the person responsible for the data processing in another way.
2.1.5 Newsletter tracking
The newsletters sent by "Bayerische Gesellschaft für Internationale Wirtschaftsbeziehungen mbH" contain so-called tracking bugs. A tracking bug is a miniature graphic embedded in e-mails that is sent in HTML format to enable log file recording and analysis. It enables the success or failure of online marketing campaigns to be statistically analysed. Using the embedded tracking bug, "Bayerische Gesellschaft für Internationale Wirtschaftsbeziehungen mbH" can determine whether and when an e-mail was opened by a data subject and which links in the e-mail were accessed by the data subject.
Personal data collected via tracking bugs contained in newsletters are stored and analysed by the data controller in order to optimise the sending of the newsletter and to adapt the content of future newsletters even more closely to suit the interests of the data subject. Data subjects are entitled to revoke the respective separate declaration of consent given via the double-opt-in procedure at any time. After revocation, these personal data will be deleted by the data controller. "Bayerische Gesellschaft für Internationale Wirtschaftsbeziehungen mbH" automatically interprets the act of unsubscribing from the newsletter as a revocation.
2.1.6 Data protection regulations regarding the use of Matomo
The data controller has integrated the Matomo component on this website. Matomo is an open source software tool designed for the purpose of web analysis. Web analysis is the collection and evaluation of data regarding the behaviour of visitors to internet websites. Among other information, a web analysis tool collects data on which website referred a data subject to a website (a so-called referrer), which subpages of the website were accessed and how often and for how long a subpage was viewed. A web analysis is mainly used to optimise a website and for the cost-benefit analysis of internet advertising.
The software is operated on the server of the data controller. The data protection-sensitive log files are stored exclusively on this server.
The purpose of the Matomo component is to analyse the flow of visitors to our website. Among other reasons, the data controller uses the data and information obtained to analyse the use of this website in order to compile online reports showing the activities on our website.
Matomo places a cookie on the information technology system of the data subject. The meaning of the term 'cookies' has already been explained above. The placing of cookies enables us to analyse the use of our website. Each time one of the individual pages of this website is accessed, the Matomo component causes the internet browser on the data subject's information technology system to automatically transmit data to our server for the purpose of online analysis. As part of this technical procedure, we obtain knowledge of personal data such as the data subject's IP address, which enables us to trace the origin of visitors and clicks, among other things.
Cookies are used to store personal information such as access time, the location from which the website was accessed and the frequency of visits to our website. Whenever a data subject visits our website, these personal data, including the IP address of the internet connection used by the data subject, is transmitted to our server. This personal data is stored by us.
As previously described above, data subjects can prevent our website from placing cookies at any time by using the appropriate setting in their internet browser and thus permanently object to the placing of cookies. Setting the internet browser accordingly will also prevent Matomo from placing a cookie on the data subject's information technology system. Moreover, a cookie previously placed by Matomo can be deleted via an internet browser or other software programs at any time.
The data subject also has the option to object to the collection of data generated by Matomo relating to the use of this website and to prevent the data from being collected. In order to do so, the data subject needs to set "Do Not Track" in his or her browser.
However, by placing the opt-out cookie, the data controller's website may no longer be fully usable by the data subject.
2.1.7 Data protection regulations regarding the use and application of Google Analytics (with anonymisation function)
The data controller has integrated the Google Analytics (with anonymisation function) component on this website. Google Analytics is a web analysis service. Web analysis is the collection and evaluation of data regarding the behaviour of visitors to internet websites. Among other things, a web analysis service collects data on which website referred a data subject to a website (a so-called referrer), which subpages of the website were accessed and how often and for how long a subpage was viewed. A web analysis is mainly used to optimise a website and for the cost-benefit analysis of internet advertising.
The Google Analytics component is operated by Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Pkwy, Mountain View, CA 94043-1351, USA.
The data controller uses the suffix "_gat._anonymizeIp" for web analysis via Google Analytics. By means of this suffix, Google shortens and anonymises the IP address of the internet connection of the data subject when accessing our website from a member state of the European Union or from another state that is party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area.
The purpose of the Google Analytics component is to analyse the flow of visitors to our website. Among other things, Google uses the data and information collected to analyse the use of our website, to compile online reports on our behalf that show the activities on our website, and to provide other services related to the use of our website.
Google Analytics places a cookie on the information technology system of the data subject. The meaning of the term 'cookies' has already been explained above. The placing of cookies enables Google to analyse the use of our website. Each time one of the individual pages of this website is called up, which is operated by the data controller and on which a Google Analytics component has been integrated, the internet browser on the information technology system of the data subject is automatically prompted by the respective Google Analytics component to transmit data to Google for the purpose of online analysis. As part of this technical process, Google records personal data, such as the IP address of the data subject, which enables Google, among other things, to trace the origin of visitors and clicks and subsequently enable commission statements to be compiled.
Cookies are used to store personal information, such as access time, access location and the frequency of visits to our website by the data subject. Whenever you visit our website, this personal data, including the IP address of the internet connection used by the data subject, is transmitted to Google in the United States of America. This personal data is stored by Google in the United States of America. Google may potentially disclose personal data collected through this technical process to third parties.
As previously described above, data subjects can prevent our website from placing cookies at any time by using the appropriate setting in their internet browser and thus permanently object to the placing of cookies. Setting the internet browser accordingly will also prevent Google from placing a cookie on the data subject's information technology system. Moreover, a cookie previously placed by Google Analytics can be deleted via an internet browser or other software programs at any time.
2.1.8 Use of Google Maps and YouTube
The data controller uses maps from the Google Maps service and videos from the YouTube service on this website.
The Google Maps service and YouTube video platform are operated by Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Pkwy, Mountain View, CA 94043-1351, USA.
In addition to the type of browser used, including the version, the operating system used, the date and time of access, and the IP address, the processed data may also include the location data of the users, which, however, are not collected without their consent (generally when adjusting the settings of their mobile devices). The data could be processed in the USA.
For more information, please see Google's data privacy information, which is available at https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/. Google's advertising settings are available here: https://adssettings.google.com/authenticated
2.2 Website of Invest in Bavaria
"Invest in Bavaria" is the promotion agency of the Free State of Bavaria together with "Bayern International – Bayerische Gesellschaft für Internationale Wirtschaftsbeziehungen mbH". It offers its own website, which processes your data as follows:
2.2.1 Use of data when visiting the "Invest in Bavaria" website
The Invest in Bavaria website can be visited without the visitor having to provide any personal information. In order to establish and maintain an internet connection between the visitor's computer and Invest in Bavaria's computer, the following data are used: Time of page visit, length of visit, browser type, domain accessed, data volume, and file accessed.
2.2.2 Use of Google Analytics and display advertising
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. ("Google"). Google Analytics uses so-called "cookies", which are text files stored on your computer to help analyse how you use the website. Generally, the data regarding your use of this website generated by the cookie are transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there.
Invest in Bavaria has enabled the IP anonymisation option offered by Google on this website. As a result, your Google IP address within member states of the European Union or in other states that are party to the European Economic Area Agreement is previously abbreviated by the last 8 bits. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and abbreviated there.
On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to analyse your use of the website, to compile reports on website activities, and to provide further services pertaining to the use of the website and the internet for the website operator. Google will not associate the IP address transferred by your browser with any other data held by Google.
You can prevent the storage of cookies by appropriately setting your browser software. However, we wish to point out that in this case you may not be able to use all of the functions of the website to their full extent.
Furthermore, you can prevent the future collection of the data generated by the cookies and concerning your utilisation of the website (including your IP address) for Google and the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available via the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.
The deletion of this browser plug-in cancels the objection.
Invest in Bavaria uses the following Google Analytics functions for display advertising, including remarketing, impression reports on the Google Display Network, the integration of the DoubleClick Campaign Manager and Google Analytics reports on performance by demographics and interests. You can disable Google Analytics for display advertising and adapt advertisements on the Google Display Network by accessing the advertisements settings. You can also download the browser add-on to disable Google Analytics via the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Invest in Bavaria uses remarketing with Google Analytics for online advertising. Our advertisements are displayed on third-party websites (including Google). We and third parties (including Google) use first-party cookies (such as Google Analytics cookies) and third-party cookies (such as DoubleClick cookies) to display, target and optimise advertisements based on your previous visits to our site.
Invest in Bavaria uses reports on impressions in the Google Display network and the integration of DoubleClick Campaign Manager. We and third parties (including Google) use first-party cookies (such as Google Analytics cookies) and third-party cookies (such as DoubleClick cookies) to analyse in reports how our advertisement impressions, other uses of advertising services and interactions with these advertisement impressions and advertisement services are related to visits to our site.
Invest in Bavaria uses Google Analytics reports to measure performance by demographics and interests. We use the data and visitor data from third parties (e.g. age, gender and interests) obtained from interest-based advertising by Google in Google Analytics for trend analysis and marketing.
2.2.3 Google Adwords Conversion Tracking
2.2.4 Google Maps
This website uses the map service Google Maps via an API. The provider is Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. In order to use the functions of Google Maps it is necessary to store your IP address. This information is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. The provider of this site has no influence on this data transmission. The Google Maps service is used to present our online offers in an appealing way, making it easier to find the places indicated by us on the website. For more information on the handling of user data, please see Google's data privacy statement: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy/.
2.2.5 Adobe Typekit fonts
This website uses so-called web fonts that are provided by Adobe to display fonts in a standardised way. When you access a website, your browser loads the required web fonts into your browser cache in order to display texts and fonts correctly. To do this, the browser you are using must connect to Adobe's servers. This informs Adobe that your IP address has been used to access our website. Adobe Typekit is used with the aim of presenting our online offers in a standardised and appealing way. If your browser does not support web fonts, your computer will use a default font.
2.2.6 Facebook Retargeting
Remarketing tags provided by the social network Facebook, 1601 South California Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA, are integrated in the Invest in Bavaria website. When you visit our website, the remarketing tags establish a direct connection between your browser and the Facebook server. Facebook therefore receives the information that you have visited our website with your IP address. This enables Facebook to associate the visit to our website with your user account. We can use the information obtained via this method to display Facebook ads. We wish to point out that, as the provider of the website, we have no knowledge of the content of the data transmitted or of their use by Facebook. For more information, please see Facebook's data privacy statement at www.facebook.com/about/privacy/. If you do not want data to be collected via Custom Audience, you can disable Custom Audiences here.
2.2.7 Embedded YouTube videos
Our website uses plug-ins from Google's YouTube website. The operator of the website is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave, San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. If you visit one of our pages equipped with a YouTube plug-in, a connection to a YouTube server is established, informing the YouTube server which of our pages you have visited. If you are logged into your YouTube account, you enable YouTube to associate your surfing behaviour directly with your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account. YouTube is used to present our online offers in an appealing way. For more information on the handling of user information, please see YouTube's data privacy statement at: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy.
2.2.8 Use of social plug-ins
Our website uses social plug-ins provided by the social network facebook.com, which is operated by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA ("Facebook"). The plug-ins are recognisable by one of the Facebook logos (either a white "f" on a blue tile or a "thumbs-up" icon), or are labelled with the add-on "Facebook social plug-in". Click here to see the list and the appearance of the Facebook social plug-ins: http://developers.facebook.com/plugins.
If you open a page of our website that bears one of these plug-ins, your browser will connect directly with servers operated by Facebook. Facebook directly transmits the content of the plug-in to your browser, which integrates it in the website. For this reason, we have no influence over the scope of the data that Facebook collects using this plug-in and therefore wish to inform you according to the current state of our knowledge.
With the integrating of the plug-in, Facebook receives the information that you have opened the respective page of our website. If you are logged in to Facebook, Facebook can allocate the visit to your Facebook account. If you interact with the plug-ins, such as by clicking on the "like" button or posting a comment, the corresponding information is transmitted directly from your browser to Facebook, where it is stored. Even if you are not a member of Facebook, it is still possible for Facebook to collect your IP address and store it.
For information on the purpose and scope of the data collection and further processing and use of the data by Facebook as well as your rights and settings options related to protecting your privacy, please see Facebook's data privacy information: http://www.facebook.com/policy.php.
If you are a member of Facebook and do not wish Facebook to collect data about you via our website and link them with your membership data stored on Facebook, you should log out of Facebook before visiting our website.
It is also possible to block Facebook social plug-ins and add-ons for your browser, such as via the "Facebook blocker".
Our website uses the "+1″ button of the Google Plus social network, which is operated by Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, United States ("Google"). The button can be recognised by the sign "+1″ on a white background.
If you open a page of our website that bears this plug-in, your browser will connect directly with Google servers. The content of the "+1″ button is then transmitted by Google directly to your browser and integrated in the website. We therefore have no influence on the extent of the data that Google collects via this button, but assume that your IP address will also be recorded.
For information on the purpose and scope of the data collection and further processing and use of the data by Google as well as your rights and settings options related to protecting your privacy, please see Google's data privacy information for the "+1″ button:
If you are a member of Google Plus and do not want Google to collect data about you via our website and link it to your membership data stored by Google, you should log out of Google Plus before visiting our website.
LinkedIn receives information when you use your LinkedIn account to log in to a website or third-party application. If you visit the Computacenter Newsroom with embedded LinkedIn job-related plug-ins such as "Recommend on LinkedIn", LinkedIn also collects information that the corresponding pages have been loaded onto your internet browser.
If you visit a website with plug-ins from LinkedIn and are registered as a member of LinkedIn, LinkedIn uses this information to recommend content specifically relevant to you. The functions provided to you by LinkedIn on third-party websites are personalised with the help of this information. Among other things, you can use your LinkedIn network to expand your knowledge and exchange information with your network (direct and second-degree contacts). Users who wish to disable this personalisation can reject this function here. The storage of this information by LinkedIn is discussed in section 3.2 of the data privacy statement.
2.2.9 IP tracing and browser language recognition for assessing representatives
• SSL or TLS encryption
This site uses SSL or TLS encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content such as orders or queries that you send to us as the website operator. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from "http://" to "https://" and by the lock symbol in your browser line. If SSL or TLS encryption is enabled, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.
When you access this website, we store session cookies on your hard drive that are valid for the duration of your visit to the website. A cookie is a small data set that is stored on your computer for the use of our website. Cookies serve to make our website more user-friendly, effective and secure. They are only used to record the frequency of visits and the length of time spent on our websites.
Although your IP address is collected for process-related reasons, it is anonymised and there is no person-related analysis. By setting your browser, you can determine whether all or only certain cookies are to be deleted automatically after closing the browser.
• Collection of further data
Newsletter – The e-mail addresses for sending the newsletter are stored on the server of CleverReach GmbH & Co. KG via a double opt-in procedure and not used for any purposes other than sending the Invest in Bavaria newsletter. Subscribers to the newsletter can cancel the subscription themselves at any time; their e-mail addresses are then automatically deleted as a result.
If you send Invest in Bavaria an enquiry via our contact form, we store the data you entered in the contact form, including your contact data, for the purpose of processing your enquiry and in case of any follow-up questions. We will not provide third parties with your data without your consent.

Call tracking – The telephone numbers provided on www.invest-in-bavaria.de in the header and footer area under "Your first contact in Bavaria" are so-called call tracking numbers. Invest in Bavaria uses services provided by the company MaTelSo (MaTelSo GmbH, Heilbronner Str. 150, 70191 Stuttgart, Germany). We have an order processing agreement with MaTelSo. When one of these call tracking numbers is called, MaTelSo collects information about the time, date and duration of the call and the destination number and forwards it directly to the assigned destination number. The caller's telephone number is stored anonymously without the last 3 digits. Personal identification is therefore not possible. Conversations are neither recorded nor stored. Processing is performed for the purpose of displaying the number of calls, successfully connected calls, and unanswered calls in the Invest in Bavaria password-protected account, whose number has been called. They will not be used for any other purpose and will not be disclosed to third parties. Invest in Bavaria is also unable to draw any conclusions about the caller's identity.
