Third German-Indian Business Forum
MUNICH This year marks the third time that the German-Indian Business Forum is taking place. As a founding partner, the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs is supporting the three-day event from the very beginning. This year's focus will be on digitisation, e-mobility, innovation and transportation. Bavaria's Minister of Economic Affairs Hubert Aiwanger: “The German-Indian Business Forum provides an excellent platform for exchange and networking. With more than 1,000 Bavarian companies operating on the Indian market, and with a trading volume of EUR 2.8 billion in 2017, India is an important trading partner and future market.” Indian companies that want to invest in Bavaria are being professionally supported by Bavaria Trade and Invest. Around 100 Indian companies have already found their way to Bavaria. “We want to,” said Aiwanger, “increase this number even more.”
The forum started on Tuesday, 13 November 2018, with a special format for start-ups from India and Germany. The second day offers a discussion forum for decision-makers from politics and business. At the state reception in the evening, Aiwanger welcomes the German Ambassador Dr. Marin Ney and Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of the Interior, Building and Community Stephan Mayer, besides the forum participants.
Bavaria had opened a representative office in Bangalore, India as early as 2001. Karnataka has been a Bavarian partner region since 2007.
