Israeli high-tech company Nano Dimension opens new European headquarters in Munich
MUNICH Bavaria’s Minister of Economic Affairs Hubert Aiwanger has given the go-ahead for the Israeli company Nano Dimension to establish itself in Munich. At the opening ceremony on 14 March, he emphasised the attractiveness of companies coming to Munich: “As a high-tech location, Munich is interesting for innovative companies like Nano Dimension. The combination of 3D printing and electronics manufacturing fits perfectly with our high-tech agenda. We want to make Bavaria stronger, especially in the field of semiconductors and microelectronics. This technology even makes it possible to partially bring production and expertise in microelectronics back to Bavaria. As a Free State, we are consciously cementing Bavaria’s future as a location for industry and research.”
Valentin Storz, Managing Director of Nano Dimension GmbH: “The decision to locate in Munich was a deliberate one. Even though Nano Dimension has offices and research labs in several locations in Europe, only Munich offers the unique combination of research, education and high-tech industry as well as attractive funding opportunities. With the support of Bayern Innovativ and Invest in Bavaria, we have already been able to make valuable contacts and initiate countless projects. We are looking forward to the next years in Munich.”
Nano Dimension specialises in the research and development of additive manufacturing, in particular 3D printed electronics. Among other things, the company manufactures 3D printers that can be used to produce multilayer printed circuit boards or 3D electronic parts. The company is also developing nanotechnology-based conductive and electrical inks as complementary products to the printers. The company's new European headquarters and the only materials research laboratory outside of Israel are located in Munich on an area of 1,200 m².
The work of the Bavarian Business Promotion Agency Invest in Bavaria was instrumental in the company’s relocation. Aiwanger: “Once again, the work of Invest in Bavaria has proven its worth. I would like to thank the whole team for their successful efforts to bring Nano Dimension to Munich. Bavaria will continue to be one of the best locations for top companies in the future.”
