MUNICH / TEL AVIV/ BE‘ER SHEVA / JERUSALEM Vice-Minister for Economic Affairs Franz Josef Pschierer will travel to Israel tomorrow, accompanied by a 22-person business delegation. The visit is a continuation and consolidation of Minister of Economic Affairs Ilse Aigner's visit in the summer of 2014. It also marks the celebration of the 50th anniversary of German-Israeli diplomatic relations. Pschierer: “We are proud of our excellent relationship with Israel as a friendly nation and economic partner. Trade relations with Israel are important for Bavaria and have been expanded further in recent years.” The trade volume currently amounts to EUR 737 million. “There is good reason why Bavaria has had its own representative office in Tel Aviv since 2009,” says Piescher.
The key topic of the visit is the expansion of Bavarian-Israeli cooperation in IT security. Bavaria will also be presented as a platform for Israeli companies that wish to expand in the European market. Discussions related to this will be held with Israeli venture capital companies within the framework of the investor conference “Made-in-Germany” and the VC workshop “Bavarian Industry meets Israeli VC.” Members of the delegation include representatives from the start-up funding, venture capital and IT security fields, as well as a representative of Allianz SE and four start-ups (Comcode, InnVentis, TerraLoupe, Transcatheter).
