The new aerospace company Greenspider GmbH (www.greenspider.eu) is opening an office in the Nuremberg branch of the Bavarian Business Incubation Centre of the European Space Agency (ESA BIC Bavaria) and starting its operations. The company develops technology solutions for sustainable mobility, electro mobility and vehicle-sharing schemes, meeting the needs of citizens and municipalities to reduce urban traffic and CO2 emissions. This happens in close cooperation with the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits (IIS) located in Erlangen.
CEO Alessandro Cantore is proud: “The ESA BIC Bavaria in Nuremberg with its main mission to boost innovative business concepts using space technology, applications, and services is the perfect location for our new company. Especially the proximity to IIS is very important for us. I am sure that we will play an important role in the growing market of mobile communication in the upcoming years.” Greenspider’s innovative concept consists of miniaturized and low-consumption devices with embedded satellite tracking, machine-to-machine communication, and near-field communication. The company’s commercial proposal for the segment of sustainable mobility, SMASH (Smart Sharing), aims to provide benefits that enable mobility operators and end users easy and flexibly access to vehicles, re-charging and parking spots, and facilitating efficient fleet monitoring.
Johann Niggl, Executive Director of Invest in Bavaria, the Business Promotion Agency of the State of Bavaria, welcomes the company in Nuremberg: “I am pleased to introduce Greenspider as a new member in the Bavarian aerospace sector. Bavaria as one of the leading aerospace locations worldwide and the hotspot for aerospace entrepreneurship in Europe is the ideal environment for Greenspider. I wish the company every success as they begin their activities in Bavaria," says Niggl.
