NUREMBERG Bavaria's Secretary of State for the Economy Katja Hessel has presented the new branch of Invest in Bavaria for Northern Bavaria in Nuremberg to the public. "By opening this office, Invest in Bavaria is taking a step closer to its partners in Franconia and Upper Palatinate. This strengthens the personal presence of Invest in Bavaria there and consolidates cooperation with the regions of Northern Bavaria. The goal is for even more investment to be made in Northern Bavaria," explains Hessel.
Based in Nuremberg, the office sees itself as a mobile branch of the economic promotion agency. After all, a key part of its work is to continue systematically visiting the urban districts and communities. The meetings focus on developing regional profiles into specific areas of location expertise, which are central to Invest in Bavaria's support of investment projects. "Location marketing is an important pillar of Invest in Bavaria's activities. In doing so, we want to involve regional representatives more closely in marketing activities. Five regions of Northern Bavaria will be represented at the specialist trade fair "transport logistic" in early June," emphasises the Secretary of State.
The two new members of staff for Invest in Bavaria in Northern Bavaria will support complex expansions or securing a site with competition from outside Bavaria, as well as investment cases from the region. They will also form the interface with the rest of the Invest in Bavaria team for regional information. The office in Nuremberg has been provided with two budgeted positions until the end of 2014. After starting in a temporary office in the Business Support Center on Fürther Straße, it will move to its permanent home at the premises of Bayern Innovativ on Rathenauplatz at the beginning of June.
Invest in Bavaria is the economic promotion agency of the Free State of Bavaria. With around 25 staff and four representative offices in its focus countries – the USA, Japan and India – it undertakes marketing and company acquisition for Bavaria as a business location. The agency supports projects for setting up business in Bavaria and planning expansions, and acts as a direct point of contact for both national and international companies. Due to its customer and service oriented approach, the Free State is able to position itself as the top choice for company relocations in the international location competition.
