Chinese motor manufacturer Dong Ming Motor Electric Co., Ltd. establishes its European headquarters in Munich

Wolfgang Hübschle: “Another new addition from the People's Republic of China in the business location of Bavaria”

Dong Ming Motor Electric Co., Ltd. opened its European headquarters in Munich in October 2014. The main goal of the new office is to strengthen cooperation with existing customers and partners and to acquire new customers locally.

“The great innovative strength and outstanding research landscape in Bavaria are what convinced us to open our European headquarters in the state,” emphasised Mr Wei XIE, Owner and Executive Director of the company. “With its outstanding, well-established infrastructure, Munich is the perfect place from which to expand our business activities throughout Europe.”

Founded in 1980, Dong Ming Motor Electric Co., Ltd. is based in Hong Kong, has production facilities in Shenzhen, and currently employs over 3,000 people worldwide. The company manufactures electrical motors and drive systems for household appliances and industrial applications. Its own brand products are used around the world (for example in the electric buses at the 2008 Beijing Olympics), with over 90% produced for export.

Dr Wolfgang Hübschle, Head of Invest in Bavaria, the Business Promotion Agency of the State of Bavaria, bids a warm welcome to the company from Bavaria's partner province of Guangdong: “I am delighted with Dong Ming Motor Electric's decision. Bavaria and Guangdong have a close economic relationship that has been characterised by mutual friendship for many years. I am certain that Dong Ming Motor Electric will also benefit from this.”

2014 sees the tenth anniversary of the signing of the partnership agreement between Bavaria and the southern Chinese province of Guangdong. More and more Chinese companies are choosing Bavaria as the business location for their expansion in Europe. A particularly high number of investment enquiries are received from southern China, which is why Bavaria opened a second Chinese representative office in Shenzhen around a year ago.
