Business Matching Bavaria – Israel

Aigner: “Further strengthening cooperation between Bavarian and Israeli companies”

The Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs today has extended an invitation to the “Business Matching Bavaria – Israel” event. The idea for the event came about when Bavaria's Minister of Economic Affairs, Ilse Aigner, was visiting Israel in last summer. “You can experience a very particular dynamic and special entrepreneurial spirit in Israel, which makes the country the ‘start-up nation’ to go to. There are many start-ups and young companies, especially in the fields of ICT and life sciences. Many countries are interested in the technologies developed by Israeli technology ventures. “This is why we have invited them to Bavaria”, said Bavaria's Minister of Economic Affairs, Ilse Aigner, on the occasion of the event.

About 20 young companies from Israel present their ideas and products and come together with companies from all over Bavaria. The event focuses on ICT technologies such as the Internet of Things, Industry 4.0, smart mobility, automotive, medical technology and IT security. In light of about 100 registrations from Bavarian companies, there is a huge interest in these topics. Aigner adds: “As a world-class business location, Bavaria has a lot to offer. Our goal is to make Israeli companies aware of the innumerable opportunities available in Bavaria. Here, they will find the industrial partners they need to realise their ideas and products.”

According to a study carried out by the EU Commission, Munich ranks first when compared with all European ICT locations, right before London and Paris. Bavaria is a leading location for information and communications technology. Bavaria's Vice Minister of Economic Affairs Franz Josef Pschierer explains: “More than any other location, the State of Bavaria offers networking opportunities and mobilisation between the ICT sector and the high-technology user industry. Large international companies, innovative medium-sized businesses and research institutions – they all come together in Bavaria to form a successful and efficient network. With the ‘Bayern Digital’ initiative, the Bavarian state government will pave the way to make Bavaria the leading region for digital revolution.”
