Bavaria’s State Secretary of Economics Franz Josef Pschierer is visiting the Czech Republic and Slovakia

[Translate to English:] Pschierer: "Wir wollen die Beziehungen zu Tschechien und der Slowakei weiter vertiefen"

MUNICH   Bavaria’s State Secretary of Economics Franz Josef Pschierer has set off for Brünn today with a business delegation. Our relationships with the Czech Republic have continuously improved since the fall of the Iron Curtain. Today the country isn’t just an important EU partner but also a significant business partner, particularly for Bavaria. Last year the trading volume between Bavaria and the Czech Republic rose to a record high of just under EUR 20 billion,” said Pschierer before his departure. Among other things, a visit to the renowned International Mechanical Engineering Trade Fair is on the agenda, which the Czech Minister of Industry and Trade Jirí Havlícek is also attending.
The second part of the trip takes the delegation to Bratislava. The delegation will meet with high-ranking government representatives there too, for example the Slovakian Minister of Research Martina Lubyová. “Slovakia is a worthwhile growth market for us. Information and communication technology, mechanical engineering and heating and air-conditioning technology in particular are developing very dynamically,” according to Pschierer. The State Secretary continues: “We want to strengthen the relationships with both countries even more. The Bavarian economy has a great deal to offer in terms of high tech. The Czech Republic and Slovakia can benefit from precisely this expertise to continue their dynamic growth.”
