Semicon West, held once a year in San Francisco, is the flagship international Semicon trade show for the global microelectronics industry. Exhibitors showcase the latest products and technologies in design and manufacturing, covering the entire microelectronics supply chain, from electronic design automation and device fabrication to final manufacturing, including assembly, packaging and testing. Semicon West is complemented by the adjacent thematic areas such as LED, MEMS (micro-electromechanical systems), photovoltaics, flexible electronics, displays and nanoelectronics. The focus is on innovations and demand-oriented applications. The combination of the exhibition with technical lectures and networking events is also being promoted.

Semicon West thus also functions as an information and communication platform for the semiconductor and microelectronics industry and addresses current and critical industry topics. With the semiconductor technology symposium and the TechXPOTs, a world of education and information is created that inspires both exhibitors and visitors and involves them interactively in the trade fair.

The Design Automation Conference or DAC (July 9-13), is an annual event, a combination of a technical conference and a trade show, both specializing in electronic design automation (EDA). DAC receives approximately 1100 research paper submissions annually.
