The Covid 19 pandemic has fundamentally changed our everyday life. The "new normality" is now determined by working from home, social distancing and face masks. This is also having an effect on mobility behaviour. Mobility service providers must meet the increased need for hygiene and safety if they want to be an alternative to the private car. Some mobility solutions have nevertheless experienced an unexpected boost around the lockdown.

This four-part online series by Bayern Innovativ analyses the effects of the pandemic on people's mobility behaviour: Are there effects that are still continuing to this day? Which parts of the mobility ecosystem are affected and in what way? What positive developments in mobility has the crisis paved the way for? And how will we live, work and move in the future?

Topic 1: Understanding what has happened

The first event in the digital series will be held on Tuesday, 3 November 2020 from 10.00 a.m. to 12 noon and will focus on big data and the lockdown: What influence did the lockdown have on people's mobility behaviour and how did it affect emissions? In what way were the flow of goods and supply chains affected? This first issue of the series deals with facts and figures on the pandemic.
