The energy supply is visibly changing into a dynamic system of several small, renewable generators. The supply is becoming more complex. The potential of all consumers and generators must be exploited and flexibilities used. Digital technology and smart grids are necessary to control and monitor this and thus to develop the grid infrastructure efficiently and to make the supply economically efficient. New concepts and solutions are emerging.

What is the current state of digitalization in the energy sector, what has already been implemented, what challenges still lie ahead, what funding opportunities exist and what best practice examples can we learn from? Answers will be provided by the presentations from politics, science and business at the 5th Regensburg Energy Congress.
