Unusual hotel concepts in Bavaria

No matter whether you’re looking for a green natural idyll, a baroque castle or an igloo, in Bavaria you will not only find extraordinary hotels, but also very special camp sites. We present a few of them to you.

A night in the middle of a tree

The extraordinary Baumhaushotels Seemühle hotel concept in Bavaria is like a childhood dream come true for many guests – to spend a night in a tree house. Anyone waking up here in the morning is surrounded by branches and twigs in the middle of the Spessart Nature Park in Lower Franconia. Renewable raw materials such as spruce and larch wood and oak planks were used to build the ten tree houses in total. The electricity is generated by water power, which makes the Baumhaushotel extremely sustainable accommodation in Bavaria. The Baumhaushotel with its seminar room for up to 20 participants is also suitable for team-building events or conferences. In addition to the individual tree houses, there is also an apartment house, a mill shop and the "Seemühle", which has a breakfast room.

The Schlosshotel Löwenstein, Bavaria’s Versailles, is also in Lower Franconia. It dates back to the 18th century and was built in late baroque style. Due to its location, just 45 minutes away from Frankfurt Airport, and the fully equipped meeting rooms, the Schlosshotel is ideal for corporate events or conferences. The 16-hectare castle park is also available for team-building activities.

Bavaria's igloo hotel on the Zugspitze

Bavaria's Igloo Village on the Zugspitze, a seasonal hotel concept with extraordinary flair, is unique in Germany. You spend the night in sleeping bags, the “rooms” are made of snow and ice. They have to be built from scratch again every year. The offer ranges from romantic igloos to family and group igloos. In addition to activities such as igloo building, snow sculpture making or snowshoeing, the Igloo Village also has a bar with a view of the Alps and an igloo restaurant.

Hotel in a bunker

One of the most extraordinary hotel concepts in Bavaria is the Hotel im Bunker. It is located in the Munich district of Allach in a historic high bunker from the 2nd World War. Equipped with 16 suites and apartments including kitchenette plus bathroom, it is equally a boarding house and a classic apartment hotel.

Bavaria's health hotel with hay aroma

The Allgäuer Reisch-Hof is a health hotel to take a deep breath and recharge your batteries. The organic farm is suitable accommodation for anyone who needs a break from the city and is looking for relaxation in nature. The extraordinary thing about this hotel concept is the combination of wellness and rustic Bavarian idyll. In the “hay apartment” guests can try out what it feels like to spend the night in a herbal hay bed. Anyone who likes sniffing the scent of hay, but prefers a feather bed, also has this option.

Bavaria's barrel hotel in Altmühltal

The sleeping barrels at the Fasshotels Beilngries in Altmühltal are particularly rustic and homely. Located directly on the water, guests can enjoy a cosy ambience and are immediately in touch with nature. The family barrel can accommodate up to five people. There are also luxury barrels with a refrigerator and radiant heaters.

Glamping in Bavaria: glamorous forest camping at Brombachsee

Camping in the forest and still not having to do without anything? The camp site at Brombachsee shows how this works. It combines nature with glamour – the result: glamping: an extraordinary hotel concept in the middle of Bavaria. In addition to a tent or mobile home, visitors can also book a luxuriously equipped wooden cottage. A brewery with beer garden and leisure activities for all ages are also on offer.
