The Innovation Centre Kronach boosts the attractiveness of the business location in the Franconian Forest
The Innovation Centre Kronach (ICK) gives companies access to qualifications beyond their specialist areas. In future, the regional network is to be used to exchange knowledge in order to increase companies' competitiveness and innovation capacity.
A series of scientific institutions have recently set up operations in Upper Franconia, including the Centre for New Materials in Bayreuth, the Fraunhofer Application Centre for Wireless Sensor Technology in Coburg and the European Center for Dispersion Technologies in Selb. In addition, the ICK offers assistance in innovation development and innovation management. The ICK specifically supports companies in making themselves fit for the future. Possible strategies are first developed and then successfully implemented.
The association was established in 2012 on the initiative of regional businesses. Kronach is to be positioned as an "innovation region" step by step. At the moment, the focus is on establishing an innovation network between companies and research institutions based here. An extra-occupational and inter-disciplinary master's degree programme on the topic of innovation management is being developed in collaboration with the Coburg University of Applied Sciences and Arts. The course is planned to start in the winter semester 2015/16. The aim is to implement a degree programme that strengthens the economy and is characterised by a strong practical orientation. In this respect, the Kronach region offers a particularly high quality of study, as the administrative district of Upper Franconia has the second highest industrial density in Europe.
The project has created an attractive range of opportunities both for companies based in Kronach and for those interested in this location. You can get in touch with the innovation centre Kronach here.
