One for all: the Smarter E Europe exhibition in Munich

Messe München’s spring 2019 programme is one exceptional highlight richer with Smarter E Europe: instead of organising four individual exhibitions to do with different areas of complex renewable energies topics as in the past, the organisers are gathering the industry’s smartest minds and most innovative players at a joint event for the first time this year.

The topic of renewable energies has been booming for years and there is no end to this trend in sight. Particularly not in Germany, the nation that occupies leading positions by European comparison with its ever-growing energy mix. Around 30 percent of net electricity generation in Germany came from renewable energy sources as early as 2016 and the figure climbed to around 40 percent in just two years by 2018. In Bavaria, the share was even as high as 44 percent in 2016 and 2017.

The future of renewable energies is emerging in Bavaria

Smarter E Europe will take place for the first time in Munich from 15 to 17 May 2019. The idea: to turn four into one. Smarter E Europe combines four exhibitions on renewable energies into one.

Bringing together:

•  Intersolar Europe (the world’s leading exhibition for the solar industry)
•  ees Europe (Europe’s largest exhibition for batteries and energy storage systems)
•  Power2Drive Europe (the international exhibition for charging infrastructure and e-mobility)
•  EM-Power (the exhibition for intelligent energy use in industry and buildings)

The idea behind it is to bring experts from all over the world together, to open the discourse and to create synergies. Which is why Smarter E Europe is more than “just” an exhibition. It also includes conferences, forums, special offers for start-ups, workshops and numerous other events that fuel discussion and networking within the industry.

As the organisers are convinced that this is the only way trends, technologies and innovative concepts can also influence the future of the energy industry. The hope is particularly for cross-industry cooperation, which will initially be sparked by the interactively and collaboratively organised exhibition.
