Invest in Bavaria and the Bavarian representative office in Japan honoured eleven Japanese companies for their exemplary commitment in Bavaria

As part of the 15-year anniversary celebrations of Invest in Bavaria, the Bavarian representative office in Japan awarded the prize for the first time, which was presented to eleven Japanese companies in Tokyo on 4th November 2014. The prizewinners have displayed outstanding commitment to locations in Bavaria and represent important pillars of the Japanese business community in Bavaria.

Around 40 top decision-makers from various sectors were invited to attend the ceremonial presentation at the Tokyo Prince Park Tower. The certificate and prize (glass object made by the company Zwiesel) were presented by Dr. Hübschle, Head of Invest in Bavaria and Dr. Geltinger, Chief Representative of the State of Bavaria in Japan. In his keynote speech, Dr. Hübschle presented the Bavarian strategy on the subject of Industry 4.0 and emphasised the importance and appreciation of Japanese investors in Bavaria.

Bavaria hosts today the second-largest Japanese business community in Germany with over 420 Japanese companies and more than 7,000 Japanese citizens. Accompanied by Bavarian beer, brewed at the foot of Mount Fuji, Franconian wine and a Bavarian menu, prizewinners and participants exchanged experiences on living and working in Bavaria.
