Follow-up: video interview with Ms Asami Chiba, Managing Director of Denkei Europe GmbH, the Japanese measuring device and system construction specialist
At the end of 2023, Nihon Denkei Co, Ltd – a Japanese specialist and provider of electronic measurement technology and system construction – opened its European headquarters in the city of Munich. We enquired with the Managing Director of the subsidiary, Denkei Europe GmbH – Ms Asami Chiba – how the company’s location in Bavaria is currently developing. Ms Chiba – who was the first woman in the company’s history to be appointed Managing Director to the 70-year-old Nihon Denkei – also reported on her personal impressions of the Free State.
The Japanese specialist in measurement equipment Nihon Denkei Co, Ltd. – headquartered in Tokyo – opened its first European branch in Munich at the end of 2023, in order to expand its European business. Nihon Denkei is active in the sale, leasing and rental of electronic measuring instruments, system equipment and related components. The primary areas of business comprise electronic measuring equipment, communication measuring equipment and physical and chemical measuring equipment for a wide range of production processes and industrial applications. Complex laboratory equipment and computer infrastructure also form part of Nihon Denkei’s product portfolio.
First headquarters opened in Europe: support from Invest in Bavaria, and a Bavarian foreign representative office in Japan
For the first time in the company’s long history, a female employee was seconded as Managing Director of a foreign subsidiary. The Japanese company is proud of this decision, and is, therefore, to be seen as a pioneer in terms of gender equality in executive management positions. In addition to customer support, the company’s expansion in Europe is being driven forward from its headquarters in Munich, in order to strengthen the company’s presence throughout the economic area. In addition to Invest in Bavaria, the representative office of the Free State of Bavaria for Japan, based in Tokyo supported Nihon Denkei in establishing a presence in Bavaria.
