Huffington Post to launch German Edition in Munich
The Huffington Post joins Bavaria’s thriving media sector this fall. The U.S. based online news portal will launch a German edition in partnership with Tomorrow Focus AG, Germany's fastest-growing news portal.
"We are thrilled to be partnering with Tomorrow Focus to launch the German edition of the Huffington Post," said editor-in-chief Arianna Huffington in a press release. "Tomorrow Focus is deeply involved in virtually every sector of digital content in Germany, and there is no one we'd rather be partnering with for this expansion."
The German Huffington Post will be based in Bavaria’s capital Munich and cater to readers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland — a market of about 100 million people.
The site will feature Huffington Post's signature mix of news, blogging, community, and social engagement.
Bavaria is Germany’s media center and one of the leading media locations in the world. The Greater Munich area alone is home to 29,000 media & entertainment related companies and with more than 150 publishers the most important city in the world for publishing after New York.
