Bavaria – top in the media
Bavaria is the No. 1 media center in Germany and one of the top media locations in Europe: from the print sector with its printing and publishing activities through radio and television, film production and the film industry all the way to the Internet and multimedia, Bavaria is excellently positioned. With 20 percent of the workforce employed in the print media sector and the world’s leading companies, Bavaria ranks at the top of the German league.
Bavaria also occupies a front-line position in Germany when it comes to audiovisual media and the production of films: - Bavaria accounts for an above-average share of the gross value added in the broadcasting industry with 25 percent
- More than 40 percent of German revenues from all film production companies is generated in Munich.
- With sales of EUR 30 billion and over 250,000 employees subject to social security contributions, Munich is the center of the ICT industry in Germany.
